Horse behaviour after loss (abortion) of Foal?

I'm not sure how willing you are to consider this -- but if she IS producing milk, ask the vet whether he knows of a foal who needs a nurse-mare? Since it all happened so recently, she might readily accept an orphan foal as her own, and calm down.
