Are ultra-camp homosexuals attention seekers?

I really do believe that (for some) it's truly their personality, however, I've met flamboyant gay guys who act very very very over-the-top and in-your-face and I think some of those who do act that way put on act in order for them to move on and accept themselves. I think it's different how people cope with it, some put on a crazy act so it's an "escape" and some just act less ecstatic. I know a guy at my school who puts on this ridiculous act and is TOTALLY different when I talk to him one on one. I'm not really flamboyant at all but i can have my girly moments when I get all b*tchy lol.
